Information for tourists
SAFETY
When traveling, you should always carry valuable documents such as your passport (or foreign passport), airline tickets, credit cards, etc. with you. Take the necessary precautions to avoid losing valuables. Upon arrival at the hotel, you must present your passport for check-in. Don't forget to take it with you before you leave.
PHOTOGRAPHY
There are no prohibitions for tourists wishing to photograph places that interest them. Photography is prohibited at the airport and railway stations, in some religious monuments, military units and sometimes the subway. The accompanying guide will always explain to you all the questions you are interested in. Also, pay attention to photography fees in most places for excursions (often this is not included in the tour price). Films and batteries are always available for sale, but we recommend that you buy all the necessary items before your arrival, especially if you have the latest modification or a high-end camera that requires certain types of batteries.
BEVERAGES
Locally produced mineral water may contain higher levels of minerals than water from your home country. The taste may seem rather salty to you (mineral waters are considered medicinal). Imported soft drinks and wines are always available for sale.
PURCHASES
Tourists will be pleasantly surprised by the prices of amazing jewelry, rare jewelry, clothing and handicraft products. Books, postcards and maps are also among the most popular souvenirs. There are some restrictions on the export of rarities. Ask your guide for details on this subject before purchasing.
ADDITIONAL PAYMENTS
You are responsible for additional hotel bills for phone calls, room service, use of the minibar and laundry. Please make sure that you have paid all additional bills before leaving your hotel.
CLOTHES
For travel in hot countries, we recommend wearing very light and loose clothing. You can wear a pullover or jacket on chilly evenings. During excursions and sightseeing, when you walk in dry and dusty places (sand, stones, etc.), comfortable, durable shoes with hard soles will be very useful. When entering some religious places and buildings, you must take off your shoes. There are no specific dress requirements for visiting Islamic religious sites other than the requirement to cover most of your body, including your arms and legs. It is better for a tourist to wear comfortable than fashionable clothes. It is advisable to leave valuable jewelry and clothes that require special care at the hotel. Due to the high risk of sunburn, your clothing should protect you as much as possible. For example, a wide-brimmed hat and sunglasses can be helpful.
BAGGAGE
A bag with a long, sturdy strap or a small backpack can be the most convenient way to carry your personal belongings and photo/video camera. It will be good if your luggage is protected by a lock. Make sure your luggage is labelled. Your name must appear on the label. Also mark your luggage in bags. This will allow the airport staff to identify your luggage if it is lost. Never leave your luggage unattended at airports or train stations.
The free baggage allowance for air travel is 20 kg per person plus one extra piece of hand luggage for domestic flights, except
